Spirit/God Communications - just a little sugar

Spirit/God is continually guiding me to deeply touching experiences as well as just great life opportunities.

A few years ago, I needed to refinance my house and attempted speaking to many loan officers of various companies, but nothing really clicked. Finally, a friend suggested I just call the 800 number of my first mortgage bank. I did, and was directed to a wonderful loan officer who processed my loan over the phone. When I was approved, we agreed on a closing date and would also meet in person on that day. It was simple, smooth and easy. 

When I met Sugar I was even more pleased than when we spoke on the phone. While signing my loan papers, she asked me what I do for a living. Since I had so much equity in my home, and my credit was excellent, I was not required to show income and therefore did not need to explain my work. I told Sugar I was a licensed massage therapist and a professional medium and the combination worked very well for healing on all levels. She was intrigued and excited and explained she was in remission from breast cancer and believed in healing on all levels (mind, body and spirit). She asked for my card as I finished signing the papers and said goodbye. 

Within a few months, Sugar called me and said that while brushing her teeth, she hears someone saying my name and that she knew she needed to see me. She also mentioned that her cancer had returned and that she knew I could help her. 

I worked with Sugar for months. She had some wonderful breakthroughs and insights to her own emotions that had affected her health. She had many emotional releases (periods of crying) on my massage table. During her first session I had begun giving her a message about her health and family issues, and through clenched teeth she proclaimed “I never cry in front of anyone.” I replied “honey by the time you get to me it’s all got to come out.” That was the beginning of one of the most rewarding relationships of my life. 

Sugar worked with me for months while also pursuing many alternative and traditional medical treatments. She was a dedicated and diligent patient as well as an intense student of life. She learned a lot about herself and her family history and dynamics that played a huge part in her disease. 

Sugar moved on to other modalities and informed me months later she would be divorced soon and that life was again changing. She said we would get together for lunch when things calmed down. 

A few months later I entered a new branch of the bank I had my mortgage with. Upon entering Carol, a petite Afro-American manager tripped and fell into my arms. It was quite a moment and we all laughed, but she asked me “since we’re so close, would you like a credit line?” I replied sure and was immediately approved. She said she’d call when the papers were ready. 

I returned to the bank days later to sign papers. While signing I mentioned that my favorite loan officer was Sugar and that I hadn’t heard from her in a while. The woman explained that Sugar had passed on not even a month prior. I knew at that moment Sugar had guided me to that branch. I may never had found out she passed. 

We continued to have a very spiritually motivated and touching conversation about God. I then told her that I pray very often and God guides me daily. I also shared that I am a minister and quest speaker and that I give inspired talks. All the while I kept signing papers. 

The woman asked me to pray for her church as well as her bank branch. She explained that she really needed some solid loans and that she had been pressured from upper management to get some new business. Her branch was in an area with many renters and individuals with lower credit scores that could not qualify for loans. I explained that I was guided there to both assist her as well as myself. 

The next day Sunday July 7, 2004 I sat to talk with my dear friend and patient Sugar. This is what transpired.

Dear Sugar,
I got the news of your passing yesterday at the bank. I was quite shocked and very saddened. I believe you brought me to that branch. I am very grateful for the smooth and wonderful way you did business with me. I am also grateful to you for trusting me to work with you and assist you to get through whatever you needed to. I was always asking for God’s help to create a miracle. My prayer now is that I did my part and was a help in some way.

You were a great help, more than you could realize at the time. There were more issues than I could possibly have faced while in the family situation, holding the perfect image. I realized a lot of things in relation to people. You know the relationship I had with my mother and what happened with my marriage to Randall. I completely understand now the limited capabilities of people and that it is absolutely necessary to work on the Self and create more strength from within. I was a strong woman, but I relied and depended on the support and approval of individuals who were completely unable to comply. This is so important to realize. Being open to whoever we need to meet and doing whatever we need to do-that is total freedom. That is where love manifests. Everywhere, all around us, especially where we least expect it. Even at the bank. That attitude and faith can touch and heal anybody. I was still holding onto unreachable goals as well as anger and resentment from the past. That too is a huge revelation. Nothing should be held onto that diminishes the “Self” in any way. No idea, thought, emotion or person. This too is imperative to healthy living. I am sorry I did not contact you, but it was my last desire not to expose myself at the end to too many people. This way my memory could be untarnished. We’ve shared wonderful loving, supportive moments, when I was still looking good and getting around well. Those memories will prove to keep inspiration high. You were a great light in my life and my hope is that I was one for you too. I will continue to assist you wherever and however I can. You have many years ahead to touch many more individuals. Don’t cut yourself short. You are especially gifted to change the development of humanity. Use your gift to its fullest extent. Don’t ever cut it short. It will blossom and take you to many places.
